All State Musicians Have Many Talents

All State Musicians Have Many Talents

The correlation between participation in music and excelling academically is on display at the All State Music Festival on the Gorham campus of USM.  Poland

Regional High School students Ben Albee and Tyler Myers are prime examples.  Myers, singing bass in the All State Chorus, is the salutatorian of his graduating

class.  Albee, playing trombone in the All State Orchestra, is also an honor student and will be Master of Ceremonies at graduation.  There are many students at

the MMEA All State Music Festival who are the top students at their schools including Kaitlyn Kinsey, playing flute in the All State Band, who is Valedictorian of

her class at Fort Fairfield High School.

Lemonade Recipe Contest this Saturday at the Children's Museum

A group of young entrepreneurs will compete for the best tasting lemonade this Saturday, May 21 at the Children’s Museum & Theatre of Maine in Portland. The Hannaford Lemonade Recipe Contest, which runs from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., is part of the activities leading up to Lemonade Day Maine on June 5.

Lemonade Day is a fun, free, educational program that teaches kids how to start and run their own lemonade business. On the first Sunday in June, young entrepreneurs from all over Portland and nearby communities will set up lemonade stands and start making lemonade.

“Everyone will have a job on Lemonade Day – either selling or buying lemonade,” says Kate Krukowski Gooding, executive director of Lemonade Day Maine.

At Saturday’s contest, lemonade will be judged on taste, healthiness and overall presentation.

Circuit - Wherein There is More Than One Samurai

ARE there any more samurai waiting to show their faces?

ARE those thugs dead, or are they just lying around?

IF they're not dead, how long do they plan on lying there?

WILL Jill, Ed, and Harry avoid stepping on any of them?

Nope. In fact, they may make a point of stepping on each and every one of them. Actually, forget that... it would take way too long to draw.

Go read today's Circuit!
