William Fitzsimmons is one of the oddest people you will ever meet. Born the youngest child of two blind parents, William was raised in the outskirts of the steel city of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Due to the family's inability to communicate through normal visual means, William's childhood home was filled with a myriad of sounds to replace what eyes could not see. The house was suffused with pianos, guitars, trombones, talking birds, classical records, family sing-a-longs, bedtime stories, and the bellowing of a pipe organ, which his father built into the house with his own hands.

Circuit - Wherein He Isn't Finished

Circuit - Wherein He Isn't Finished

WHERE did the old man get the hooch?

WHEN will Sam be finished with his first bottle?

HOW much has the samurai had?

IS there such a thing a too much hooch?

Not for a samurai, there isn't. The rest of us need to pace ourselves. We can't all be samurai. We might all want to be, but we can't. Think about it... if everyone was a samurai, who'd be left to make the hooch? There'd be a whole lot of grumpy samurai to contend with. So, thank you, all you hoochmakers out there, wherever you are. Thank you for being you.

Portland fire dept. gets grant for pet oxygen masks

PORTLAND, Maine (AP) -- The fire department in Portland, Maine, has received a grant that will allow it to buy oxygen masks for pets that need help in surviving fires.

The Planet Dog Foundation donated $1,000 to the fire department for oxygen masks that can be fitted for dogs and cats. The foundation says smoke inhalation is a leading cause of death for pets trapped in fires.

The special oxygen masks are designed specifically for animals' faces and come in three sizes.

The foundation is the nonprofit arm of Planet Dog, a dog product company based in Portland.
