Portland looking for big ol' tree for the holidays
News

PORTLAND, Maine (NEWS CENTER) - The Portland Downtown District is looking for the perfect tree to usher in the holidays.

The District is looking for a 40 to 60 foot, well rounded tree.  It will be set up in Monument Square and decked out with hundreds of LED lights.

Portland's Arborist, Jeff Tarling, says they're looking for a "stately" tree within 10 miles of the Forest City.  Tarling says it will be cut down and taken away at no cost to the owner.

Submissions should be sent to info@portlandmaine.com.  Include a picture of the tree, the address and the owner's phone number.

You can also mail your submission to:

The Downtown District says Rick Charette and the Bubblegum band will perform and a special guest will light the tree at 6 PM on Friday, Nov. 26.
