Muskie School of Public Service to Host Seminar Addressing Teen Dating Violence

To kick off National Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month, the Muskie School of Public Service at the University of Southern Maine will hold a brown bag lunch seminar on Monday, February 6, 12:00pm - 1:30pm,at the USM Wishcamper Center, Lee Community Hall, 34 Bedford Street, Portland, to educate the community on teen dating violence, its causes and effects, and available services for victims.

Presenters will include Drew Wing, executive director, Boys to Men; Laura Plotkin, youth advocate, Family Crisis Services; Clara Porter, USM Interpersonal Violence Prevention; Amy Raina, sexual assault educator, Sexual Assault Response Services of Southern Maine; and representatives from the Muskie School’s  Violence Against Women Act Measuring Effectiveness Initiative and Justice Policy Program.

The seminar is free and open to the public. Educators are encouraged to bring their students.
