Summer Concerns for Dogs....Fireworks, Going to Camp and more!

Summer is upon us and, if you have a new puppy or older dog, there are a few things to consider when planning for fun in the sun.  Here are some tips and suggestions to consider when including Fido in your plans...

Taking Your Dog to An Outdoor Event:  Backyard BBQs, block parties and get-togethers with family and friends sometimes include an invitation to “bring your dog!”  If you choose to do so, be sure you plan ahead so that things go smoothly.  Always consider a public event as a training opportunity for your dog.  Wear your treat pouch and load it with delicious tidbits your dog loves.  Keep your pup on a leash so you have control over him at all times.  Here at our puppy school, we teach our customers to step on their puppy’s leash when people approach.  This way, the pup can’t jump on people who want to interact

Join us from 9-11 am this Saturday, June 16 for our monthly Green Team Volunteer Day. This month we'll return to a patch of invasive knotweed near the middle parking lot off Cutter Street. Wear long pants and appropriate shoes and don't forget your gloves, water and sunscreen.

Culture Club-Portland

Portland, Maine – Four major Portland arts organizations are partnering on a new educational initiative to connect students to the arts. Culture Club-Portland is a collaborative program between the Portland Museum of Art, the Portland Symphony Orchestra, Portland Ovations and Portland Stage to deliver accessible, consistent, diverse, high quality arts experiences to students. Funded by an anonymous donor, the goal of Culture Club-Portland is to provide consistent access to the partnering institutions and their programs to every K-12 student in the Portland Public School district to build a lifelong relationship with the arts and to embrace these vital resources.

Baked Bean Supper - Gray

A baked bean supper will be held on Saturday, June 23, 5:00pm, at the First Congregational Church, Route 115, Gray.  Baked beans, casseroles, salads, homemade breads and desserts will be featured.  Adults $8.00, under 12, $4.00.  Handicapped accesible.
