Help Celebrate St. Patrick's Day Early and Help Children With Special Needs in Maine

The 2nd annual Robbie Foundation Benefit Night will be held Friday, March 15th at the Local Sprouts Cafe, 649 Congress Street in Portland. The festivities will get underway at 5 p.m. and will feature live music from Chris Pulsini and Tommy Bolster, a silent auction featuring art pieces created by artists from Brunswick's SunTide Studios, and a St. Patty's Day Basket Raffle.

In Maine, where one in ten kids has a disability. All of the proceeds from the event will go to provide children and youth with developmental disabilities in Maine, with therapy treatments, services and adaptive equipment that is not covered by insurance. Over the past two years, the Robbie Foundation, a Scarborough based non-profit, has donated more than $40,000 in services and equipment to dozens of special needs kids throughout the state.

Junior Achievement's Maine Business Hall of Fame Recognizes Three Outstanding Business Leaders

Since 1990, Junior Achievement of Maine’s Business Hall of Fame has honored the state’s most distinguished businessmen and women for their outstanding contributions to free enterprise and the promise of a better, stronger society.  For 2013, three exceptional business leaders have been welcomed as laureates into the Junior Achievement of Maine Business Hall of Fame in an induction ceremony that will take place at 5:30pm on Wednesday, May 8, 2013 at the Marriott Sable Oaks in South Portland. 

The Junior Achievement of Maine Business Hall of Fame laureates for 2013 include: Richard W. Petersen, President of Maine Medical Center, Danielle Ripich, Ph.D., President of the University of New England and Horace A. Hildreth, Jr., Chairman Emeritus of Diversified Communications.

These three honorees join a distinguished group of 65 men and women who have been inducted into the Junior Achievement of Maine Business Hall of Fame.
