Friday September 23. 10 a.m to 3 p.m

While demand for blood products by area hospitals remains steady, blood donations to the Red Cross over the last few months have been the lowest the organization has seen in over a decade.

To help rectify this drastic situation, Portland's Saint Joseph's Rehabilitation and Residence will be holding a blood drive in partnership with the Red Cross on Friday September 23 between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m at the facilities auditorium.

It is estimated for every pint of blood donated up to three lives can be saved.
