Man in custody after weekend stabbing in Portland
PORTLAND, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- One man is in jail as police in Portland are looking into a stabbing.
The stabbing took place on Saturday near West Commercial Street.
21-year old Jeremiah Schaffner stabbed 35-year old Shawn Buck twice in the abdomen and chest after the two got into an altercation.
Buck underwent surgery at Maine Medical Center. Schaffner turned himself in the next day.
Police are still looking into the incident. Schaffner is charged with assault and is currently at the Cumberland County Jail.
