Portland Police raid suspected drug house Wednesday night | News
PORTLAND, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- Portland Police seized "significant" amounts of crack cocaine in a Wednesday night raid.
Lieutenant James Sweatt said in a press release that the department was responding to several neighborhood complaints that indicated a high amount of drug activity.
Sweatt said the Special Reaction team served a search warrant at 61 Grant Street at approximately 11:20 p.m. Wednesday night.
Police seized approximately 74.8 grams of cocaine base (crack) and $1,053 of alleged drug money during the raid.
Sweatt said while there was clear evidence the residence was being used for drug transactions, no drug arrests were made Wednesday. Sweatt did expect that to change over the coming days.
