Memorial vases stolen from Portland cemetery
PORTLAND, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- The Portland Police Department is investigating the theft of about 60 bronze memorial vases from gravesites at the Brooklawn Memorial Park.
Cemetery staff first noticed missing vases last Wednesday. They say the thief is likely planning to sell them for scrap metal; the approximate value of the stolen vases is $12-thousand.
The most recent theft happened Wednesday night.
Police have been scanning the cemetery, but they're hoping any witnesses will come forward with any information that could help.
