Gritty McDuff's Christmas Ale now on Tap and in Stores throughout New England

Gritty McDuff's ( is kicking off the holiday season with the release of its seasonal "Christmas Ale," available now through the end of the year, the company announced today.

"This ESB-style beer has a full-bodied, malty taste with slightly roasted undertones," said Thomas Wilson, Gritty’s marketing director.  "Its flavor perfectly complements richer holiday foods, and it’s a natural choice for entertaining."

A robust ale that will be served throughout the fall on draft at Gritty's three Maine brew pub locations (Portland, Freeport and Lewiston/Auburn), Christmas Ale also will be available on draft in select bars and restaurants throughout the region and at beer retailers throughout New England in 6- and 12-packs, 22-ounce bottles and mini-kegs.

Maine chefs to gather tomorrow at Grace!

Native Maine Produce & Specialty Foods, the states largest independent distributor of fresh fruits, vegetables and specialty foods is hosting Fancy Flavah, the states first ever micro specialty food show open to hospitality professionals only. The show is being held at the beautifully restored Gothic Revival styled Restaurant Grace, 15 Chestnut Street, Portland, Maine, from 1pm - 4pm.

"This is an opportunity for the professional Maine chef who features boutique proteins, artisanal cheeses and extraordinary specialty foods on their menus to meet local food producers and European specialty food purveyors in one place.

Gritty McDuff's "Red Claws Ale" to be Expanded to 6- and 12-Packs

Ed Stebbins, master brewer with Portland, Maine-based Gritty McDuff's, today announced that beginning mid-November, its best-selling Red Claws Ale is expanding to six and 12 packs in grocery stores, convenience and beer stores throughout Maine.  It also will continue to be available in 22 oz. bottles and on tap.
