Running for a Cause: The Solemates of Girls on the Run-Maine

Running for a Cause: The Solemates of Girls on the Run-Maine

What an amazing first year this has been for Girls on the Run – Maine.  We have our first group of girls running in Portland, we have our HotChoco Trot Family 5k Fun Run coming up this month and our SoleMates supporters recently  completed their first big race at the Maine Marathon and Half Marathon.

SoleMates is the adult charity running leg of GOTR - ME. We are male and female athletes of all ages and abilities who pursue individual goals, such as running a marathon, walking a 5k, or participating in a triathlon, to raise money for GOTR - ME. We currently have sixteen SoleMates committed to support our organization.

At the Maine Marathon on on September 30th, we had nine runners complete the half marathon.  For anyone keeping score that was 13.1 miles in the pouring rain.
